Final Fantasy X - NSGNSND Monster Arena - Nega Elemental 1

Duration: 9:30

Video of Nega Elemental being defeated in NSGNSND (No Sphere Grid, No Summoning, No Doom) challenge. NOTE: I have made exceptions to the No Sphere Grid rule for "Flee" and "Bribe". The former is to quickly escape from unwanted battles and has no effect on any battle shown. "Bribe" is used to gather items quickly, and likewise, has no effect on any battle shown. Equipment: All characters weapons: First Strike, Evade & Counter, Alchemy, Triple Overdrive (only First Strike is relevant in this battle, you might want to chuck on Magic Counter so you can throw Tetra Elementals around and get a few counterattacks in for extra damage) All characters armours: Auto-Haste, Auto-Phoenix, Auto-Regen, Ribbon (Auto-Regen is irrelevant, NA players should put Poisonproof instead of Ribbon) Strategy: "Trio'd overdrives, bam, he's dead" again? Nope, he counters overdrives with Ultima. "I'll just use attacks then", huh? Counters those too. "What about magic?", you say? He counters Lancet, and absorbs all of Lulu's spells. He counters items too, in case you thought that. These are why some people have considered him impossible in an NSG game without using an aeon. But, he's not impossible at all. So how the hell are we going to beat him? Here's how - we're going to Hyper Mighty G through every single one of his counterattacks. Fortunately, he doesn't use anything that hits more than one person on his turns, so you're safe there. So, your aim: Get either Tidus or Wakka under Trio of 9999 (preferably Wakka) AND at least two characters (preferably all three) under Auto-Life from Hyper Mighty G. It's more effective to mix Trio of 9999 first, THEN Hyper Mighty G. This way, you aren't stuck with two characters to attack, and if Nega decides to repeatedly attack Rikku but doesn't ever attack your attacker, before you get Hyper Mighty G up, it won't make you lose. As you can see, I realised this part way through the battle. However, the downside of this method is that you will need more Phoenix Downs. You also may notice me using Tetra Elementals. It's up to you whether you want to or not. Nega Elemental seemed to use Flare a bit too often to justify using them for me. So, your tasks: 1) Make sure everyone is alive 2) Make sure at least two characters, if not all three, are under Auto-Life from Hyper Mighty G 3) Make sure your attacker is under Trio of 9999 - preferably Wakka, Tidus works as well, don't even think about attacking with Lulu or Rikku 4) Only when all three of these conditions are fulfilled, launch your attack This battle isn't hard, your only danger unless you mess up is that he keeps attacking the wrong person and you run out of Phoenix Downs before you deal enough damage. It's just really long. This video is made up of multiple parts.
