I know. In band, (concert and jazz) All we play is middle sounds, which sound IMO dull. My band director always tells us that we need more low sounds, yet we don't play as low as I would like.

I totally agree! though our band director pushes us a lot, for instance he told us to play the lowest note on the instrument(not directly but we were doing a scale that requires it) with no practice and believe me that takes a lot of air O.o
By the way if anyone knows is this guy using a jazz reed?
