| You're stupid if you think Roddick's serve is anywhere close to Sampras. The only thing in Roddick's serve that is better than Pete is speed. Variety, consistency, accuracy, reliability, second serve, and everything else goes to Pete Sampras. Roddick is a joke. Karlovic is more comparable to Sampras, but he still has weaker second serve. |

Roddick serves at 67% first serve whereas Sampras was a little above 50% most of the time. While Sampras had the best second serve ever, he also had more than few double faults than Roddick in his prime which sorta neutralizes it. You win most of your free points from first serve anyway. Pete was more skilled server perhaps but Andy's serve speed is more than enough. |

| sampras was a better server (the best in fact), but roddick's serve is something to behold. he has a vicious kick serve as well as obviously his 1st serve. |

| yeah it's too bad that during his playing days he made no effort to adjust his game to play better on clay and like he said just a few months ago he now realizes how important it would have been for his legacy if only he would have won the French;I guess the more he sees how winning RG would mean to Roger and him making 3 finals there while Sampras never made it that far;Sampras is feeling nothing but regret and he should.Ask McEnroe who choked that final and Connors who feel regret too. |

| No he did not care to win on clay, Pete knew his game wasn't meant for clay and so did everyone else. He went out there saying, "I'm just going to try my best and see what happens." He did not have any expectations of himself on clay like he did on grass or hard court. That's what I mean when I say he didn't care for clay. |

| Aces aren't everything. Unreturned serves are basically the same thing as aces, the only difference being that opponents got a touch on the racquet. Besides, Sampras probably had more aces because he made the finals so much, and thus played more matches. I used to be Sampras fan and now Roddick's, and I say that Roddick garners more free points off serves. And Roddick holds his serve around 90% every year. |
