Why do you assume I am American? I guess people who assume such things without asking are the same people who assume Tibet is a part of China. These people do not take time to do research nor do they take time to ask the simple questions.
I can understand these days people have short attention span and are just believing anything they see on TV or map. Maybe instead of just looking at 1 source, you should try multiple sources from that respective time period. Open your minds and think!

How is Tibet free? Can you explain? As a direct result of China's illegal occupation of Tibet, human rights conditions remain dismal, there is no freedom of speech, no freedom of assembly, no freedom of press and no freedom of religion. Tibetans face many challenges. After reading your comment, I am starting to think that I am talking to Borat? As a professor, your first claim was the map. Than after I pointed out how foolish you were to use a map as your only references, you pointed out the Yuan and Qing dynasties. Even that was vague. All your statements are so generic and poorly explained. So Borat, if you want, I can give you text references from both sides that will point to the same conclusion; Tibet was never a part of China. As pointed out earlier,the Chinese Government has never claimed to have acquired sovereignty over Tibet by conquest.Indeed, China recognises that the use or threat of force, the imposition of an unequal treaty or the continued illegal occupation of a country can never grant an invader legal title to territory. Its claims are based solely on the alleged subjection of Tibet to a few of China's strongest foreign rulers in the 13th and 18th centuries.

Of course, where else can you be? And you should know I am Tibetan. So who can be a better judge of how Tibetans feel? When I tell you that my own family members have been attacked and shot by the Chinese army, why would you care?
