The majority of our troops in Iraq have died from IED's, random mortar attacks, etc. No one is "miles away from any combat". Lindsey Graham has done active duty in both Iraq and Afghanistan. And it hasn't just been in the Green Zone. And Jim Webb is not his son.

Does simply going to Iraq and taking a short tour make someone instantly an expert on the ground operations? The statistics give a much better indicator of the reality than a 1 week stay at a four star hotel in the green zone. My favorite part was when Webb said "I hate when politicians put their own political opinions in the mouths of soldiers" That's so true, especially when you look at how Ron Paul got more donations from the military than all of the candidates combined.

There's a man I would love to see in the White House one day. A well-rounded, moderate, and practical politician who can honestly attest to what it truly means to serve one's country.
