This is not Rumba ... ( 4 weeks ago by salserazo)
This is not Rumba this is called Bolero. Rumba is a little bit faster, and they are dancing international style. International style you don't bent your knees you only rotate your hips. Is from England if you watch dancing with starts you'll see the similarity.
International style ... ( 4 weeks ago by salserazo)
International style you land on a straight knee and then you bend it as you move. American style, you land on a bent knee and then you straighten it as you move It's called Cuban Motion. Makes sense since Cubans invented the Genre.
Want to see the ... ( 3 weeks ago by georgewu5)
Want to see the best International Latin dancer in the world? Type SLAVIK on YouTube. He would demonstrate what a beautiful Cuban Motion looks like! whether he came from the Mars or from the moon has nothing to do with it. Who knows it could have been from birth, something that somebody has and the others could never get it no matter how much money one has does not matter! Or the country he was born in has nothing to do with it! HE IS A RUSSIAN! HE DANCES BEAUTIFULLY!---dancewu(dot)net

s: Sorry! China ... ( 3 weeks ago by georgewu5)
s: Sorry! China invented the gunpowder in Tang dynasty; but the U.S.A. made the Atomic bombs in 1945! Yes! the basis of the Latin dance Rumba: The Cuban Motion was originated in Cuba, but in 1920's,it was embraced by all over the world, and naturally each country put into their input as they deemed like to,developped their own interpretations. In England, the Latin they danced before 1980's,was ugly(Cuban style?)to me!but they improved it into today's best Rumba in the world! Now you claimed it?!
A very wise person ... ( 3 weeks ago by salserazo)
A very wise person said once "Every head is a world" also "One man's trash is another man's treasure" we are all differente in many perspective. You like International style, good, that's you! I respect that, you have your reasons and your own taste in music. I don't like International style, I been watching and dancing regular style all my life. I don't have an aquired tasted for International dance.
I teach regular ... ( 3 weeks ago by salserazo)
I teach regular Rumba which is called American style because in all the Americas is done, North, Central, South and specially in the Carbean where it originated. I give you one point where you said "It doesn't matter where the person is from" I agree with that because I'm Hispanic and I teach Jitterbug which was created in the USA. I teach waltz which was created in Russia or German I'm not sure. Practice makes perfect I always believe that but I don't cut one down to lift the other one.
s: I have decided ... ( 3 weeks ago by georgewu5)
s: I have decided not to give an argument now, because by now, tell you the truth,I am a little bit sick and tired of arguing, not from you though. I still have the ten books on the ten International dances to be finished. Arguing just took too much of my energy to better my study from people like Slavik and Marcus Hilton in Ballroom dancing;and architecture from Le Corbusier and Wright;art from Michelangelo;and Chinese studies from LAO TSU,etc...... Thank you.---dancewu(dot)net

This is a very good ... ( 4 days ago by congastu)
This is a very good interpretation of the bolero rhythm. it is not a rumba, which for many Afro-Cubans represents freedom from slavery. It is therefore ironic that many cuban rumberos struggle for recognition thanks to the mistakes made years ago in naming latin dances. This is not a criticism of ballroom dancers, and i dont see the point in comparing two forms which are so different BUT with the knowledge in front of us, can we try and correct something which is historically a little unfair?
c:The gun-powder ... ( 3 days ago by georgewu5)
c:The gun-powder was invented by the Chinese more than one thousand years ago. Today can the Chinese fairly ask the formula of the atomic bomb that dropped in Japan in 1945 be changed? In order to give a little respect to the Chinese inventors?! HaHa!You are really stubborn and getting annoying! Are you not?!---dancewu(dot)net
