The bass player left because he couldn't handle being in the spotlight, and he didn't get along with Brandon. Um. Dirk would take everything so seriously that it kept the whole band on edge. Ben is a much better player for Incubus, he gets along with the group so much better, and he's an excellent player. Anyone who says otherwise has never listened to the band Ben was previously in, and just likes 'old' Incubus more JUST because they sounded exactly like every other nu-metal band out there.

C'mon.... the bassist went to play with the roots. incubus was made by the bassist. they will never be the same. just like limp bizcut, the music is bass driven. besides 'ben' is not the player the old bassist was. he tore it up on morning veiw, in case you didn't know. the new stuff is not as good. you don't have to be a rock star to know that. good for the Roots!!! the old bassist kicks ass!!! Subjective much? I think they make better music with Ben, its more of them and less of who they were trying to imitate when they first started. I don't have to be a rock star to know that Incubus has made an amazing name for themselves after Dirk left. Part of being a musician is being able to work with others. He couldn't do it. I just perform like these guys do, Sorry. Incubus as it stands now works better as a whole. Don't judge those you don't know or understand. Please.

oh i definently think he is bi, not sure if he is gay, but its all.
