à Rollins , mais en général des musiciens comme ça , on appelle ça un peu méchament des "escrocs". Il a plutôt fait une belle carrière, grâce à des journalistes aussi sourds qu'ignorants... Hélas , ce ne sont pas toujours des musiciens qui font et défont les succès. Reste que ce sax. es
t plutôt médiocre, et certains appellent ça un "géant". C'est drôle et triste à la fois. Sans rancune.

It's "Morning Song"!!!! The original song is from 1981 and it's on the "Morning Song" CD (Black Saint). Just wanted to share what I found.

There are several versions of this tune down David Murray's back catalog. The one on the 'New Life' album is with the octet and it's just a riot, utterly joyful. This version, from the 'Morning Song' album is the more restrained - but none the less brilliant for that - version. A very, very cool post. Thanks.

No, this is THE DAVID MURRAY. The other one is a decent musician, but this guy is in a whole different category. The music might not appeal to your tastes, but if you diss it just because of that, you are not a thinking person. This man is an incredible talent, and one of the best of our time.

hahaha dave murray, from Maiden, great band I love it... But this is jazz, I like his sound, I heard about him when he played with steve coleman and the five elements a great concert in hot brass in 95 (I guess)

The World Saxaphone Quartet played in Chicago back in the late 80s and it was my introduction to David Murray. He is truley a gifted player. He and George Adams, another favorite tenor playor, have similarities and this song reminds me a bit of the Don Pullen/George Adams Quartet with Dannie Richmond (RIP George et al). David Murray Has an excellent band here. He is one of the best tenor players on the jazz scene today.
