i was born in morooco, so i am a "true moroccan girl" and am not sure about 1 out of 2 not being able to read and write in morocco but i am aware of illiterates not only in morocco but around the world and for most it is not their choice if they live in poor villages but am from the big city and a big family and everyone in my family is highly educated so i don't have any personal experience with it.
