I agree, but I wouldn't say "fantasy" - I'd say an ideal and an unattainable but ever-present goal to strive towards. World peace is just a silly phrase people throw around, but encouraging people to love and care for each other despite national boundaries is a worthwhile notion. I like to think this song tells people that they should be caring and loving, despite the pressures of this imperfect world. I don't think it's about government at all.

saw this show in San Jose CA... I've seen hundreds of shows... Page / Plant, U2 multiple times, Peter Gabriel, Prince, Metallica... this was the best of them all... unbelievable musicianship, sound, stage performances... just simply the best. Hope Bowie has one more tour left in him.

Wow, Gail Ann Dorsey shines thourhg in this song. It's a great duet, and I'm glad that Bowie let Dorsey take the stage at times. As a previous poster stated, she's down-to-earth and doesn't have the theatrics that lennox did when performing this song, but she certainly has the voice. And yes, she's playing bass, too.

Her name is Gail Ann Dorsey. She tried to make a career of her own and ended up playing with Bowie for years. It's amazing, because Bowie has a reputation for "erasing" people who upstage him, but he was wise enough to keep her. Bowie's and Dorsey's vocals are just great here, and you couldn't ask for better.
