| i remember watching this match it was AMAZING! her entire run at the tournament was amazing. i was so on edge the entire time i was so nervous for her because she really wanted to win she has always been my favorite and it was hard to watch her loose previous years so it was so wonderful to see her win her favorite tournament again..i actually cried when it was over lol |

| I KNOW I cried when I watched this match. Just watching this clip puts tears in my eyes. I just hated that it had to be Davenport on the other side. If this isn't the best women's tennis match in the history of the sport, then the best match hasn't been played yet. |

| i remember watching this match and almost having a heart-attack! what an AMAZING match...a classic. who would have thunk it....3 years later...Venus would have 2 more wimbledons added to her name....poor davenport. Lindsay has always been such a sport, and they've had such an awesome rivalry...loved it :D |

| Lindsay really blew this match big time. I notice people forget Lindsay had a 6-5 lead and SERVED FOR THE MATCH in the second set. Lindsay had a gazillion chances to win and STILL LOST. Credit to Venus for refusing to GIVE UP. Venus went for her shots and wasn't afraid and that's why she WON. She was calm under pressure and kept on fighting. |

| this match qlmost sent me into cardiac arrest, the drama was so high....this was a tremendous match and tournament....I love Venus's reaction, it's like a child experiencing their fondest dreams coming true...u really saw how much it meant to her to win--that's what tennis is about! |

| You might then also recall then that Lindsay had a serious back problem develop during the latter stages of the match and somehow she kept fighting. There was no choking from either lady in this match because neither ever had the match in their pocket. It was an extraordinary match full of incredible tennis - I think given everything that this was Venus' greatest performance on the hallowed turf of Wimbledon. |

| i remember watching this final wit my brotha n my cuzin and wen she was down match we was all biting our nails.... we thought she was gon lose but she hit that winner down the line we started yelling!!!! this was by far the best wimbledon women's final ever!!! I love the williams sistas |
