Russia's Defence Ministry has confirmed that Georgian troops have withdrawn from South Ossetia. Spokesman Anatoly Nogovitsyn said peacekeeping forces are once again in control of most of Tskhinvali.

Thousands were killed by Saakashvili's regime. Georgians started with shelling of Tskhinvali, then invaded South Ossetia and committed mass murder of civilians. Russian army is now forcing Georgia to stop the slaughter. No Georgian civilians have been hurt yet, no Georgian city taken or shelled. Russia's purpose is clear: to stop Georgian agression. That's what we call a peacekeeping mission.
