And I'm sorry, but isn't having mononucleosis an acceptable not excuse but explanation? Most people can't even get out of bed with that disease and Federer came out and gave Djokovic a run for his money in the 3rd set and amazingly in that third set Djoke was the one who looked tired. Idk, you're right, making excuses is lame but if there's such a thing as a non-lame one, it's having a sickness that serious.

by next year i think it will be 1=nadal 2=djokovic 3=federer this year federer has been showing signs that he is not quite as good as day 05-06 but nadal now has reached his peak justwatched him beat roddick on grass and he looked so strong and his serve is much better as well i hope fed can win 6 in a row though that would be unreal but i just cant see him beating nadal.

No, Federer has had a tough year primarily because he's been sick. Up to now he's never really been injured.
He's the greatest player who's ever lived. He's going to win Wimbledon this year, going to surpass Pete Sampras' record of 14 majors, and will put both Nadal and Djokovic in their places. Federer's been #1 for 228 consecutive weeks and counting. No man or woman player has ever done that. Nor will
Nadal and Djokovic ever do that.

rofl keep dreaming. Djokovic booted in Wimbledon 2nd round. Federer and Nadal still going strong. I see no change in rankings in the near future. Federer will stay at 1 and Nadal will stay at 2.

It's true that Fed's ranking is in danger, especially after his Wimbledon loss today (How amazing of a match was that!?) but he still has a decent size cushion on Nadal, especially when you consider hardcourt season aka Nadal's weakest surface coming up and has at least a 1500 point total lead over Djokovic. Those may be the rankings eventually but next year may be a bit soon.

On REAL grass, (Wimbledon's grass has unfortunately been turned slow to encourage more rallies) Federer has no challengers. He is the ultimate favourite there.
On hardcourts though, there are so many more dangerous opponents, especially with Djokovic being second best in the world there in many people's opinion.

sampras has been the number one fpr more weeks than roger federer did it. i think rafa nadal plays better than roger, but roger plays nicer.
