Thirteen years, we have been drug around by the Family Court. He is finally locked up in Lexington SC, and going to court on Aug. 26. Interested in how the State will turn this on me. Over, 40,000 in back support owed. Let's see how fast he can peel out of the SC Family Court.The same court that couldn't find or collect for us, will accept a promise that he will pay after release....right. I have bridge to see ya'!

As far as Congress is concerned, South Carolina is a deadbeat state.
Since 2001, the state has been fined more than $55 million for not complying with a federal law by setting up a computer system to track parents who don't make their child support payments.
THAT IS MORE THEN S.C. WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY FOR THE SYSTEM .

THE LOSER IN OUR OVERWORKED SYSTEM IS THE QUALITY OF THE HEARINGS GIVEN TO OUR LITIGANTS. FAMILY COURT IS AN ASSEMBLY LINE.They only give judges on averade 20 minutes per case . 20 minutes to make judgements that could harm a child for years to come

The States cannot be fined for non compliance as it is optional,if it were required it would have failed the Constitutional scrutiny as the Supreme court cited.Perhaps you mean they lost 55m in appropriations?

However I will say this much it is the private corporation AKA. Maximus in which is in charge of collections contracted in most U.S States,including S.C so if if a lack of collection is happening it has to do with the system set up by all the States.

My deadbeat escaped to South Carolina from NJ. Got a driver's license even though he had a suspended license in NJ for DWI. Now is in $92K in arrears. Has been arrested in South Carolina, but the NJ Child Support Enforcement can't get access to that information because they don't have a computer system that gives every state access to information.
